Mrs. Andrea Harris Wynn

The founder

In 1986 they started A&W Realty, Inc., which became one of the largest African-American owned and operated real estate companies in the Atlanta area. They invested in East Point when few developers were doing so. “We stepped to the plate when no one else was interested in the area”, says Andrea. In 2003 A&W Realty built The HIlliards on Main, an homage to Mayor Patsy Jo Hilliard and family. This mixed-use development became one of the first new developments in the historical East Point Main Street business district.

The Wynns also founded Wynn-Works, Inc., established to build new custom homes. Known by many as the “Wynning Team”, Wynn-Works has been a game changer in Atlanta-area development. The company built hundreds of homes in the Metro area, was the sole developer and builder for a 32-home project in East Point, and was the primary builder in the massive redevelopment of the Summerhill community.

In addition to building communities, the Wynns also build people. With a need to provide quality education to African-Americans, they realized the importance of teaching young people at an early age. They invested in the childcare franchise Kids ‘R’ Kids, purchased land in the Cascade area, and built an educational complex from the ground up. Joined by their daughters Kim Wynn Lewis and Keisha Wynn Robertson, who are both intricately involved in the companies, the Wynns earned the exclusive rights to build Kids ‘R’ Kids franchises throughout South Fulton. As the first Kids ‘R’ Kids in an African-American Atlanta-based community, the Cascade location now boasts graduates who are making an impact in their own careers.

In 2018, The Wynning Team began acquiring buildings on East Point’s historic Washington Road, to continue their guiding principle–“We must become producers instead of always being just consumers.” Now known as a collective of premiere event venues, The Legacies at Washington Road boasts The Legacy Event Hall, The Legacy Gallery, The Legacy Garden, and the Wynn Legacy House.
Opening the Wynn Legacy House has been a passion project for Andrea. She continues the legacy started by her and her husband to inspire the younger generation to change the world by promoting and celebrating the achievements of African Descendants of Slaves (ADOS).

Andrea Wynn has been a major presence in numerous distinguished Atlanta-based organizations, including co-founder and first chairperson of the East Point Business Association, Atlanta Business League (Woman of the Year 2000), South Fulton Chamber of Commerce Board, and East Point Main Street Board.
